Our trip to Hawaii was relaxing and full of adventure at the same time. What honeymoon would be complete without gorgeous views, lovely beaches, and a half marathon???
You can see our Honeymoon half, but besides a half marathon…
Oahu is a very interesting island. You fly into Honolulu ,and we stayed in Waikiki Beach which is as urban as you can get. Resorts, shopping malls and high rises everywhere. However, if you travel around the island you find a very different atmosphere. Waikiki was fun, but my favorite parts of the island were outside the limits of Honolulu.
We traveled the island checking out the variety of beaches and landscapes, watched fireworks on Waikiki beach, found fresh coconuts and fruits at local farmers markets, visited the Dole Plantation (and of course had Dole Whip!), ate shaved ice at the famous Matsumoto, played in tide pools, and even tried farm fresh shrimp at Giovanni’s Shrimp Truck.
