So what do you do on your honeymoon???
Upon arriving in Honolulu we couldn’t help but notice all of the signs for reduced parking on April 13th. It turns out we arrive just in time for the Hapalua Half Marathon on Waikiki Beach.
We decided running a half marathon would be a good way to celebrate. Neither of us had run a full 13 miles before, but together we knew we could make the distance. We decided that no matter what this run was together and that we were going to stick together. 36 hours prior to the run we signed up and with that we made 3 simple goals… No walking for the first half of the race, Hit the finish in less than 3 hours, and Cross the finish line hand in hand…
The streets of Honolulu were so alive, the weather was amazing, and we met all of our goals! We crossed the finish line together in 2 hours and 27 minutes.
Next time we run a long distance race we will definitely plan a little more, but what an adventure.
