Masters Graduation – OSU 2012

On May 4, 2012 I successfully defended my Masters Thesis, “Uplift Capacity and Displacement of Helical Anchors in Cohesive Soils”, to earn my MS in Geotechnical Engineering (a Civil Engineering specialty). The journey to the defense was definitely a difficult one, but I could not be prouder of myself for persevering and completing my graduate studies in only 16 months.

During the summer of 2010 I decided that I needed to complete my MS before starting my career, leaving and returning is always more difficult. So with the support of my family and loving boyfriend Brent, I applied to OSU for my MS in Civil Engineering. Before I knew it I had been accepted and had been selected for an assistant-ship that would pay my tuition!

My graduation ceremony was a full family affair, complete with great family photos.

I cannot be more thankful for the love an support I received during this time… There were definitely good days and bad days, but the experience truly made me a stronger person. I will be forever grateful to Brent for supporting me throughout my studies and keeping me sane during the rough patches. He truly is my rock.
